1. A separate choice
Cloud Step History is optional and off by default. It is separate from:
- connecting Apple Health or Health Connect on your phone;
- giving the operating system permission to read selected categories; and
- saving a phone GPS or imported activity with route data.
Declining Cloud Step History does not prevent you from using the core phone workout experience. In the app, the cloud option must be unticked until you actively choose it.
2. What is uploaded after consent
GRITFIT.AI LIMITED uploads only:
- your total steps for each calendar day;
- the daily step goal saved for that day;
- the calendar date;
- a source label; and
- revision/update metadata needed to keep the daily total accurate.
3. What Cloud Step History does not upload
This feature does not upload:
- individual/raw step samples;
- precise location or route points;
- heart rate, resting heart rate or HRV;
- sleep records;
- workout records;
- bodyweight or body measurements;
- notes or Coach messages; or
- advertising identifiers.
A separately reviewed and saved phone GPS/imported activity can include precise route points. That is a different feature and data flow described in the Privacy Policy.
4. Why GRITFIT uses the cloud copy
GRITFIT uses the uploaded daily summaries to synchronise step history across signed-in GRITFIT devices and to provide supported step trends and badges. It is not sold, used for advertising or used to make a medical decision.
GRITFIT's contracted authentication, hosting, database and security providers process the data to operate the feature. The external AI provider does not receive raw Cloud Step History automatically; a relevant derived/current-health context may be included in Coach processing when a supported request requires it, as explained in the Privacy Policy and AI Transparency Statement.
5. Retention
The active cloud copy is kept while Cloud Step History remains enabled and your account remains active. It is removed from active GRITFIT cloud-health tables when you use the feature's delete-cloud-data control or complete account deletion. Operational backup copies may remain until they age out under the confirmed retention schedule.
6. Withdraw consent and delete the copy
Open Settings → Devices & activity sources. You can turn Cloud Step History off and choose to delete GRITFIT's cloud copy. You can also delete your GRITFIT account through Settings → Privacy & data → Data controls.
Turning off the feature does not delete information held independently by Apple Health, Health Connect or a phone manufacturer. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that lawfully occurred before withdrawal.
7. Accuracy and health limits
Daily totals can be delayed, duplicated, revised, missing or inaccurate because of phone, wearable, permission, source or synchronisation behaviour. They are fitness information, not a clinical measurement. Do not use step history for diagnosis, treatment or emergency decisions.
