This notice is for GRITFIT users aged 16 or 17. GRITFIT is not available to anyone under 16. Read this with the Global Privacy Notice.
A quick guide for you
What information does GRITFIT know about me?
GRITFIT knows the account, age, profile, goals, workouts, progress, device/security and choices you provide. It handles health information, connected-health summaries, precise routes or private media only when you choose the relevant optional feature and its safeguards are satisfied.
What does the AI Coach see?
If you choose Enable Coach, Coach receives your message and a limited, relevant set of profile and training context. Separately permitted health context may be included when needed. Coach does not receive your password, Hidden Folder media, private progress media, failed-unlock photos or precise GPS route points. You can choose Continue without Coach or withdraw Coach permission later.
What can my guardian see?
A guardian can see only the optional feature categories you ask them to review and whether they approved or withdrew those categories. They do not automatically see Coach conversations, health information, private media, Hidden Folder, route history, workout notes or account content.
What can my guardian approve?
You first choose the categories to request. A guardian can then approve all or some of: paid subscriptions, optional health personalisation, connected-health information, progress photos, Hidden Folder media and precise route storage. Core training remains available without those optional approvals.
Is my location shared?
Not by default. A route is stored only after you choose route recording, grant device permission, review the route and have the route category approved. Precise route points are not sent for general Coach inference.
Can I turn health features off?
Yes. You can withdraw GRITFIT health consent and disconnect supported health sources. Also revoke the operating-system permission. Withdrawal stops future optional health processing and removes supported health-personalisation records from active GRITFIT systems; it does not automatically delete every ordinary workout or media item.
How do I delete my data?
Use Settings to export data, reset training data or delete the account. If locked out, email dpo@gritfit-ai.com. The backup route is support@gritfit-ai.com. A guardian can raise a concern, but GRITFIT verifies the appropriate person and does not give the guardian your private content.
How do I report something unsafe?
Use in-app feedback or support. Coach and support are not emergency services. Stop exercising and contact appropriate professional or emergency help for concerning symptoms or immediate danger.
What happens when I turn 18?
Guardian approvals end. Their management link stops working, optional-category authority is cleared, and GRITFIT minimises their contact details while retaining limited legal evidence. You manage your own choices. Features that were locked while you were a teen stay locked until you make the relevant adult choice; they do not silently turn on.

Age and safeguards
Date of birth is used for proportionate age controls. GRITFIT automatically applies teen-safe defaults at 16–17. We do not use document verification or facial age estimation for ordinary signup. Guardian review is an additional GRITFIT safeguard for selected optional functionality; this notice does not suggest that UK law always requires parental consent for every 16- or 17-year-old's use of an online service.
Guardian invitation and records
You must actively agree to each requested category before GRITFIT sends an invitation. The invitation contains category labels, not your health, media, routes, Coach messages or workout history, and expires after seven days. The guardian confirms they are an adult with appropriate authority. GRITFIT records hashed tokens, requested/approved categories, declarations, timestamps, withdrawal and security metadata to operate and evidence the safeguard.
The guardian can withdraw an approved category using the management link. Withdrawal locks the affected teen feature. You can request a new review for a category. Paid subscription purchase is blocked in the app and independently by the backend unless its category is approved.
Special protections
Optional health and connected-health processing requires your explicit health choice as well as the applicable guardian category. Private-media and route actions are enforced server-side. The failed-unlock camera feature is adult-only and cannot be enabled on a teen account. No guardian category gives access to private account content.
Coach
Coach responses are AI-generated, can be wrong, and are not from a human coach, doctor or clinician. Your Coach choice is separate from health consent. Safety gates reduce risk but cannot replace your judgement or professional care. See the AI Transparency Notice.
Rights and complaints
You can exercise your own privacy rights. Use the in-app controls or the routes in Account Deletion and Privacy Rights. For a formal concern, email dpo@gritfit-ai.com. We will not make ordinary support response wording override a legal deadline.
